The Beginning (of the blog at least)...

Friday, April 24 -- I felt like starting a blog today. I'm not sure what it's going to be about. Just a chance for me to share the journey. It's not going to focus on work or other people or too many current events.

More than ever, I feel the need to get things written down. To share my thoughts. To write. To think out loud.

A lot of the blog will focus on my training for an Olympic triathlon in June. And books I'm reading. Philosophies I'm developing. TV shows I'm watching. Travels I'm embarking on. Basically the journey of life.

I guess this blog is just going to follow my exploration as I search for the beginning of it all -- so I can "know the place for the first time."

Some days I'm going to be poetic and thoughtful. Other days I'll be brief and blunt. Let's begin...

---

I'm getting ready to hop on my road bike and hit the road for a two-hour bike ride. My training program calls for a 117-minute bike ride and I finally have the time and the good weather to follow the plan! My other bike training has been inside at the YMCA and I'm stoked to get outside.

Tomorrow morning at 10 am I'm playing in a $280 World Series of Poker Main Event Satellite at Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood. Hopefully I can play well and get some cards and earn a seat. It would be incredible to play in the main event as my first WSOP event. If I don't qualify, I've considered directly buying into a $1,500 event. I'm probably an average player in the $1,500 field and I really want to say I've played in bracelet event.

Well, I'm keeping this first entry short and I'm going to get to the bike and enjoy this weather.

Enjoy the ride,
Damm
